Social responsibility

Social responsibility The commitments we assume with society

Aware of our role in society, we develop projects in the areas of education, culture, health promotion, preservation of the environment and respect for diversity. Our goal is to bring quality of life to employees, partners and the local community.

Projects and Actions

Metalúrgica Riosulense created and developed the Commemorative Planting project, in which seedlings of native trees are planted by the employee who completes 5 years with the company. The action takes place annually since 2002, preferably in September, alluding to Tree Day, and is held within the company’s property that has a large green area.

Held in partnership with Senai, the program aims to train 16 and 17 year olds to carry out activities in the metallurgical industry.

Riosulense has contributed to the restoration of the former Barra do Trombudo Railway Station, which has been transformed into a Cultural Center with leisure activities and integration with the residents of the neighborhood located around our factory.

We were one of three investing companies of the Selo Social program in Rio do Sul, helping to make social and environmental projects feasible for various organizations in the city. It is a program of the NGO Instituto Abaçaí that helps municipalities to develop in areas such as education, health, environment, culture, inclusion, economics, politics and urbanization.

This program helps increase productivity, safety and efficiency at work, as well as contributing to the quality of what we do, reducing waste and facilitating problem identification and resolution. For this, every month the company is evaluated in the sense of use (separating the useful from the useless), ordering (identifying and arranging everything) and cleaning (keeping the environment clean).

Riosulense is a partner of the Association of Preservation of the Environment and Life (Apremavi), which assists in the supply of seedlings for the planting actions carried out by the company.

Through the implementation of good practices that stimulate proactivity and change of attitudes, this program recognizes and values our employees annually.

We encourage the separation of waste among our employees. All are trained on what types of waste are produced in the company and the correct form of disposal. Dumpsters with different colors and identified with the type of material to be deposited are distributed throughout the company premises.

Treatment Stations

Water Treatment Plant (ETA)

The process of water capture in the ETA begins with the flow of the surplus of four bodies of water located in the upper areas of the terrain, four lakes that flow into a stream. The waters that leave these bodies of water flow through a natural gravity process and are stored in the body of water located to the left of the ETA.

ETA treats both drinking water and water used in furnaces. Both are taken from nearby lakes.

Effluent Treatment Station (ETE)

The Effluent Treatment Station (ETE) is composed of a wastewater treatment system of industrial and / or sanitary origin, carried out by physical-chemical and biological processes.

All effluent generated in manufacturing processes, recoverable, as well as effluent from sinks, toilets and kitchens, are received in the ETE. After treatment, the treated effluent is reused in the cooling towers of the induction furnaces.
